Did you know that there are more than 1 million young people in the UK not in education, employment or training? A bit of a cliché; but this is scary if our youth are the future.

The current economic crisis has spared no one. Charities working in the most deprived areas of the country, particularly training and education are being hit hardest by the government cuts. This means that charities are losing up to 43.4% of their income(Guardian.co.uk). This is a substantial amount. They are having to depend solely on private donations.

I am taking on the Wild UK Challenge(scared!), the same challenge that I have read about countless times. This year I have teamed up with work colleagues at Avanade to take on the challenge and raise money for the Prince's Trust.

Its inspiring reading about the work that Prince's Trust does to help young people. A wealth of research indicates that lower educational attainment and lack of formal qualifications makes it much more difficult to secure full time  employment.  To help those with few or no qualifications build skills, confidence and find employment, Prince's Trust provides development opportunities through various educational schemes.

Its scary that through lack of funding such schemes cut down or shut down altogether. All contributions make it possible for Prince's Trust to help young people hit hardest in recent economic downturn.

I am taking on a 3-day challenge of hiking, cycling and kayaking , doing a 100 miles in 3 days(eek!)

My goal is to raise £600 by 1st August, 2012 and £800 by 1st September. I am not asking for £100 or $1,000(if you can then please do :). Any amount that you can spare to charity is never too small. A £1, or even a $1 it doesn't matter where you are in the world when you read this. If you are reading this from China, Russia, USA or Mexico and can spare it then please help me raise funds for such a worthy cause.

Please go to my fundraising page on the Prince's Trust site -> Here! Please donate any amount that you can. Please also leave me your twitter ID or drop me a line on face book -> Here! I will personally send you a thank you note or tweet you. If you are unable to donate but still feel compelled to help then I would appreciate it if you could tweet this link(http://itsallbee.blogspot.co.uk/p/wild-uk-challenge.html) or share on Facebook to help me generate funds.

I will keep you posted of the fundraising and the challenge via my Facebook page.
